Role Overview:
- The Institutional Sales professional (AVP / VP level) will play a key client-facing role in the distribution of primary equity transactions. This is a high-impact position focused on ECM sales and IPO / primary market distribution to institutional investors across Hong Kong, Greater China, and international accounts.
Responsibility:
- Actively distribute and market primary equity offerings, including IPOs, follow-on placements, block trades, and other ECM transactions to institutional clients (hedge funds, mutual funds, long-only, family offices, and sovereign funds).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buy-side institutions to generate demand for new issues.
- Participate in bookbuilding process, collect investor orders and indications of interest (IOIs), and work closely with the ECM Syndicate team on pricing and allocation.
- Support roadshows, investor meetings, and non-deal roadshows (NDRs) for ECM deals.
- Achieve assigned revenue and distribution targets for primary market transactions.
- Provide market feedback and investor sentiment to ECM Origination and Syndicate teams.
- Collaborate with Sales Traders and Research teams to offer comprehensive equity solutions (primary + secondary).
- Monitor market conditions and identify cross-selling opportunities.
Requirement:
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant institutional equity sales experience, ideally with strong exposure to ECM / primary market distribution.
- Proven track record in selling IPOs, follow-ons, or block trades in Hong Kong / China markets.
- Existing institutional client network in Hong Kong and/or Greater China is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in Mandarin.
- Team player with strong execution ability and client service mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree or above from a reputable university.
